Who is Itachi Uchiha?

The character Itachi Uchiha is a prodigy of the Uchiha clan. His story seems very dark, but we can summarize it as follows. 

He became an international criminal. Before, he murdered his entire clan, but spared his younger brother, named Sasuke. Then, Itachi joins Akatsuki, getting into several conflicts. 

In these conflicts, he fought against Konoha and its ninjas, mainly Sasuke. Thus, Sasuke sought to avenge his family. So, at the end of the story, Itachi dies during a battle with his brother Sasuke. 

However, his motivations are revealed after his death: deep down, Itachi only wanted to protect his brother and the village, remaining loyal to Konohagakure until the end. The character was and is very successful in the Naruto series. 

So Itachi sacrificed himself so that his brother wouldn't have to suffer too. With this and all the twists and turns in his story, the character of Itachi Uchiha has become much admired and loved by Naruto fans. 

Why do fans like Itachi so much? 

Now that you know a little about Itachi's story, you may still be in doubt as to why fans admire him so much and why this character is so successful. 

Itachi has practically become a “myth” for those who like Naruto, not only because of the battles and his difficult trajectory, but also because of his intentions, revealed at the end.
